The Certified VMT Mentor designation is awarded to Venture Mentoring Team (VMT) mentors who have successfully completed all core VMT Mentor Training courses and fulfilled the required 20 hours of Team Mentoring.
This certification recognizes mentors who have demonstrated both mastery of VMT’s structured mentoring curriculum and meaningful engagement in real-world mentoring sessions. By combining formal training with practical experience, Certified VMT Mentors embody the standards, professionalism, and collaborative spirit that define the VMT mentoring model.
To earn this certification, mentors must:

Complete all core VMT Mentor Training courses.

Participate in and contribute to a minimum of 20 hours of Team Mentoring.

Demonstrate alignment with VMT’s mission, mentoring philosophy, and core values.
The Venture Mentoring Team takes pride in supporting mentors toward certification within the first six months of joining VMT, reinforcing a culture of preparedness, accountability, and excellence.
